About me
Nice to meet you! My name is Carmen van Sleeuwen, artist & animator, Co-founder of Roost Games and Art Director of Cat Cafe Manager. I've been working in the game industry for 7 years, making art & animations for titles like Renowned Explorers, Godhood & Tracks of Thought. Check out the Projects page for a more detailed overview.
It's a bit of a cliche, but I've been drawing ever since I could hold a pencil. I've always been into creating my own worlds full of mermaids, or visualising the fantastical stories of my friends. I even made my own animations in MSPaint with my trusty mouse (poor hands).
I've studied 2D animation at the HKU, Utrecht. It was hard work, especially finding the balance to be an artist professionally and having fun while doing it. When I started as an intern at Abbey Games in 2014, I found out that working for games works great for me to express my concepts and ideas!
